UPHouse
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 21, 2026
UPHouse ("the app", "we", "us") is a private, invite-only hub for friend groups. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect the minimum needed to run the app and we do not sell your data.
Who this policy covers
Anyone who creates an account and uses UPHouse.
Information we collect
You provide it:
- Account: email address (via Firebase Authentication) and password. We never see your raw password — authentication is handled by Google Firebase.
- Profile: display name, and optionally a birthday and short bio.
- Group content: the groups you create or join, and content you post inside them — events and RSVPs, forum threads and posts, poll votes, and tracker entries.
- Game activity: your daily puzzle results (score, time, streak).
Collected automatically:
- Basic technical data needed to deliver the service (e.g. authentication tokens and timestamps). We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, or health data.
How we use your information
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To show your groups their shared content (events, forum, polls, trackers, birthdays).
- To display leaderboards and streaks for the daily games among your group.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the app.
We process this data to provide the service you requested (a private group hub) and to keep it secure.
How your data is shared
- With your groups. Content you post in a group is visible to the other members of that group only. Groups are isolated from one another at the database level (row-level security), so one group can never see another group's content.
- Service providers. We use two infrastructure providers to run the app:
- Google Firebase — authentication (stores your login credentials).
- Supabase — database and storage (stores your profile and group content).
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms.
- We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.
- We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of users.
Data retention and deletion
- We keep your data for as long as your account exists.
- You can delete your account at any time from Edit Profile → Delete Account. Deleting your account:
- removes your profile (identity) and your personal participation data (RSVPs, votes, reactions, tracker entries, game results);
- transfers ownership of any group you own to another member, or deletes the group entirely if you were its only member;
- removes you from every remaining group;
- shared content you authored for a group (such as events, threads, posts, and polls) may be kept so the group's history stays intact for the other members, shown as authored by a past member.
- Deletion is immediate and permanent; it cannot be undone.
Children's privacy
UPHouse is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and protected with industry-standard access controls, including per-group row-level security so members of one group cannot access another group's data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app (edit your profile, delete your account) or by contacting us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
